Clubs: acts of solidarity across our regions

Clubs: solidarity initiatives in our regions

News16 April 20201 min read

News from 16 April 2020. Last updated on 9 May 2020: some information may have changed. Latest news

Last week, in our newsletter and on our website, we told you about the initiative of the Chambley club, which is offering flights to people working on the 1st line during this pandemic: hospital and care-home staff, supermarket employees and others.

The initiative was picked up by local newspapers, notably L'Est Républicain, and by some national papers.

We also received a few emails, notably from Jean-Louis Gross, a member of the Nuits-St-Georges flying club and a doctor in a care home, who is also offering private flights to care staff and their families. Jean-Louis Gross simply invited all the carers to share with him the pleasure of discovering flight:

Clubs: solidarity initiatives in our regions"It's not complicated: when we are able to fly, we will invite anyone who wishes to discover another dimension from the air. Out of the hundred or so carers, probably ten will want to share these moments of airborne happiness with us. I was surprised by the amazed reaction of some of the carers and above all by the change of atmosphere in the wards. Recognition and respect for everyone's work are essential to get through difficult times. We have the privilege of living our passion in the third dimension, so what a wonderful opportunity to popularise what makes us dream."

Likewise, in the south of France, he would like to set up the same initiative at Courbessac aerodrome.

We will feature on this page every club or school that sets up this kind of initiative, to give them the recognition they deserve! Please get in touch to let us know what kind of solidarity initiative you are putting in place!
