The ULM Club de Chambley stays in touch with its members
News of 30 December 2020. Last updated on 8 February 2021: some information may have changed. Latest news

Given the travel difficulties caused by the health situation, our club did not want to lose touch with its members. With this in mind, we have set up online presentations for club members (I have even received requests to join the next presentations from members of other clubs..)
After several trials and adjustments, we started on Sunday 22 November 2020 with a presentation on air regulations. Given the good quality and the positive feedback we received, we chose to do a presentation on radio phraseology. This meeting brought together 23 club members (roughly 1/4 of our membership). It is fair to say it was a resounding success. For 2 and a half hours, we were able to follow the presentation by one of our instructors, Fabrice Tenette, while being able to chip in and comment.
We have therefore decided to continue this kind of presentation, even after lockdown. This format does seem to bring club members together around a theme whatever the conditions, whether they stem from the health situation or from the weather. It is easier to log on to a virtual presentation than to drive miles in snow, rain or ice...
We have received many suggestions and proposals and already have plenty of topics lined up (using SDVFR, how certified aircraft maintenance and microlight maintenance work). How to find the information needed to maintain your aircraft, what to do, what to prioritise and so on; another on how engines work; informal discussion meetings; and many more to come, as our instructor Fabrice already has other themes in reserve.
As our politicians say, "We must know how to reinvent ourselves", and that is what we are trying to do, very modestly.
