News from 23 April 2021. Last updated on 29 April 2021: some information may have changed. Latest news

This particular year of health crisis forced us to hold the General Assembly remotely, by videoconference. 3 of us were physically in Gap, behind our PC: Louis Collardeau (president), Véronique Béringer (secretary) and Paul Prudent (head of the training centre). On the other side of the screens, about fifty members were present or represented to follow the presentations of the Moral Report, the activity report and the financial report.

The General Assembly was held by videoconference

In summary, the PNVM is in very good health, the activity continues to develop, well supervised by a fine team of volunteers, and the finances are sound. The online votes approved the reports unanimously. The Executive Board continues its work. Of note is the replacement of the treasurer Yvan Lhermitte, whom we thank for his work, by Alain Prunenec, as well as the arrival of Marc Picard as deputy secretary.

Some points of vigilance raised at the General Assembly:

The PNVM in a few figures:

192 members in 2020, 35 accredited instructors (in all the Alpine ranges) and a total of 469 trainees (including 41 in 2020) were trained in mountain flying by the PNVM. As in 2019, zero accidents in 2020 within the PNVM's activity.

Highlights of the 2020 activity:

  • Flight training and theory training continued at a reduced level in groups of a maximum of 6 trainees; 41 pilots were trained, as well as 3 new accredited instructors.
  • New edition of the “GALDEZ” STOL fly-in in February 2020 with 16 participants.
  • New rental agreement, in partnership with the Hautes-Alpes département, for the PNVM premises at Gap Tallard aerodrome.
  • Maintenance of mountain landing strips (altisurfaces): stone clearing at Super Dévoluy.
  • New website https://pnvm-ffplum.fr/, which we invite you to visit to find all the information about PNVM activity.
  • Occasional loan of our premises for the aeroplane mountain rating courses organised by our friends at the AFPM.

Outlook 2021:

  • Theory and practical training will continue; demand is strong and the calendar is filling up fast.
  • The availability of a Tetras on mixed wheels/skis will make training on snow possible.
  • A PNVM fly-in is planned at Nossage in October.
  • “Galdez” STOL fly-in, probably in the autumn.
  • Maintenance of mountain landing strips (altisurfaces): Super Dévoluy, Clamensane and Colombe (make yourself known to the PNVM secretariat).

We look forward to sharing our passion for mountain flying with you.
