The regulations on air displays have profoundly changed the legal and operational framework for “air events”. The key link in any event remains the role of the Flight Director and their deputy. People with the skills and experience needed to be a flight director (FD) are rare. To ensure continuity in this essential pool of FDs, the federation has set up a qualifying training course, which will be repeated as often as necessary.

This training also applies to organisers / coordinators of “introductory days” or “open days”, as well as organisers of gatherings with more than 80 movements (40 take-offs/landings), who must appoint a “coordinator” who has completed this training, and to FDs, who must meet the requirements for maintaining their skills within 36 months.

Members who wish to move into flight direction or coordination are welcome on these courses, which are a prerequisite for meeting the requirements of the order of 10 November 2021, updated in May 2023, on air events.

This training takes place over one full day, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the federation's headquarters. First come, first served!
