Safety flash - Be vigilant about the Magnigyro rotor head

Following two recent investigation reports published by the BEA concerning an M16-type gyroplane and an M24-type gyroplane built by MAGNI-GYRO (see the reports at the links below): Magni M16 report Magni M24 report
These two accidents have one thing in common: both involved series-built gyroplanes modified on the owners' own initiative and without the manufacturer's approval. Any modification made to an aircraft can have consequences for safety.
Without being certain of the sequence of failure on these two machines, the BEA found significant damage to the links of the control transmission fork at the rotor head.
So, in consultation with the manufacturer MAGNI-GYRO, which is preparing an "Official Information Bulletin", all users of gyroplanes in the MAGNI-GYRO range are recommended to carry out the pre-flight check with particular attention to the following points:
- Integrity of the original assembly, as intended by the manufacturer (see the diagram below)
- Presence of the original taper pin (item 14 in purple) + washer + nylstop nut
- Presence of the original "special" bolt (item 52 in purple) + washer + nylstop nut
- Check that there is no play in the link between the lateral movement of the control stick and the corresponding movement at the rotor head

MAGNI-GYRO strongly recommends updating the manuals to the latest version by registering on "MAGNIPEDIA" using the following link: https://magnipediaentry.wordpress.com/
