Safety in Figures - BSV No. 60
The table below summarises the accident statistics recorded from 1st January to the end of April 2019, classifying casualties by severity and distinguishing accidents involving material damage only.
The monthly statistics are updated with the latest known information (see the chart below), although not all minor accidents may appear for the current month because they sometimes reach us late.
The season has resumed and, fortunately, we have so far had no new fatalities in April. Although it is difficult to claim victory on the basis of the published figures alone, it is clear that in 2018, 6 deaths had already been recorded by the end of April, so a downward trend seems to be confirming itself in 2019.
Alongside these results, we must above all not relax our attention, and in particular the rigour of each individual, which helps to reduce the number of accidents. The REV campaigns that have been set up also seem to be a useful addition to safety and, why not, to skills improvement.
Wishing everyone good flying.
