Like a flying squirrel!
The 45th Coupe Icare is on its way!

In this anniversary year for many major outdoor events in Isère (50 years since the Grenoble Olympic Games and the 40th Foulée Blanche, among others), the Coupe Icare is launching in 2018 the countdown to its fiftieth anniversary.
These major sporting events have shaped the way of life in the Isère Alps for two generations and are entirely part of the local heritage, with a definite international impact, particularly the Coupe Icare.
Famous for its fancy-dress competition in hang gliders and paragliders, over time it has remained THE annual meeting point between the general public and free-flight pilots (with and without engines).
A show that brings together 90 000 spectators and 10 000 pilots from around the world each year, for four days out of time, with an air sports fair, a film festival, high-flying aerial displays and a slightly crazy atmosphere in the air and on the ground.
For its 45th edition from 20 to 23 September 2018, still at the Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet / Lumbin site between the Chartreuse massif and the Grésivaudan valley, the Coupe Icare will no doubt live up to its international reputation as the world's largest ultralight air sports event.
Many surprises are in preparation and will be revealed over the coming months.
