Do you know 191? We explain what it is. A number to know by heart!

191: the aeronautical emergency number
The aeronautical emergency number 191 can be used by anyone in distress, by any direct witness of an aircraft accident, or by anyone worried about the disappearance of an aircraft and its occupants.
From a landline or mobile phone, 191 is a free number, available 24 hours a day, 7 days out of 7, intended exclusively for handling aeronautical emergency calls.
In service since Friday 20 April 2017, calling 191 allows the ARCC (Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre) at Lyon Mont-Verdun to launch search and rescue operations for the occupants of aircraft in distress, or presumed to be, within the SRR France (Search and Rescue Region France).
In your club, school, hangar or even your living room, display this poster to make this emergency number known; it can save lives by making search and rescue more effective.
