Chambley, the capital of air sports!

Saturday 21 July

The day stretched out a little in time, a little too much for the organisation, because everything is then shifted in the well-oiled workings of the organisation: tent, fuel, showers, catering, briefing. But the essentials are assured for the participants: the flying was lovely.

We left Vesoul in the late afternoon in superb summer light with a light headwind. The navigation consisted mainly of following the Saône and its peaceful meanders upstream, while concentrating on the areas to avoid.

The destination is Chambley, well known to aeronautics enthusiasts, balloonists in particular, and to the Tour ULM, which has already had the pleasure of stopping at this base that makes everyone jealous with the quality of its facilities. The welcome lived up to it, led by Georges Humeau, president of the association "ULM Sport et Loisir", with the help of Fabrice Depardieu, president of the Grand Est Regional Committee.

So we have found rest to prepare for our day in Belgium, which looks set to go very well.
