The French Championship took place from 3 to 9 October 2020 at Blois Le Breuil Aerodrome. Braving rain and wind, and making the most of a few lulls, the competitors gave us a fine week of sport, full of great records and fine performances, together with a fine sporting spirit, solidarity and good humour.

Our region was well represented by 1 paramotor pilot and 2 weight-shift pilots.

Nelson Guillemette, on a paramotor, a member of the Courseulles sur Mer club in Calvados; Luc Courtain, on a weight-shift microlight, from the Saint André de l'Eure Microlight Club; and Sylvie Lailler, on a weight-shift microlight, also from the Saint André de l'Eure Microlight Club. It was a first for Sylvie and Luc. Both were accompanied and supported by Nelson, for whom this was his fourth championship.

This kind of event makes for fine encounters in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Thank you to the participants and the organisers!

Everyone went home with fine memories and the desire to do it again. If you fancy it, do not hesitate! The championships are open to everyone and our three competitors want to come back next year. So why not you?

They will be delighted to share their experience and to help the events run as smoothly as possible.

Here are their rankings:

Women’s Single-seat Weight-shift: Sylvie is 3rd

Single-seat Weight-shift: Luc is 4th

Single-seat Paramotor Juniors: Nelson is 4th

Congratulations! Well done again and see you next year! Long live microlighting and long live Normandy!!

Marie-Françoise Vallée-Dubus

President of CRULM Normandie
