CNFAS STATEMENT - Thursday 28 May 2020

News item of 29 May 2020. Last updated on 11 June 2020: some information may have changed. Latest news

Phase 2 of lockdown easing

Since 11 May, the strict lockdown of the population has been lifted, which has made it possible for the various organisations affiliated to the CNFAS federations to resume flying, in scrupulous compliance with health instructions and travel restrictions.

During this period, priority was given to pilot refresher flights (competence-maintenance flights, training flights, revalidation flights, practice flights, etc.), which allowed activity to resume in good safety conditions.

In view of the announcements made by the Prime Minister this Thursday 28 May setting out the new phase of lifting lockdown, with the clearly stated principle that “freedom will become the rule again”, the aviation federations consider that, from 2 June, all flights may resume.

These flights will naturally be made in compliance with the rules in force (notably the permitted travel radius (no more distance limit within France, but borders are not opening) and the procedures to prevent the spread of the virus (notably the obligation to wear a mask or visor).

All the federations have drawn up precise rules to this end for their members and their clubs and schools. The federations are aware that the conditions for resumption are still fragile and that everyone must remain particularly vigilant.

Light aviation is an essential part of aviation activity as a whole, so, in the context of support measures for the aviation sector, this light aviation, varied in its practices and respectful of environmental concerns, must not be forgotten.
