News of 30 October 2020. Last updated on 2 November 2020: some information may have changed. Latest news

The development of the health situation has forced the authorities to introduce a new lockdown, the terms of which are set out in decree No. 2020-1310 of 29 October 2020 (attached). This decree has a very strong impact on the flying activities of the various CNFAS federations.

It is mainly the travel conditions that determine what is and is not permitted, subject to special provisions.

The travel exemptions for missions in the general interest that were put in place during the first lockdown for certain activities are not currently in force. The CNFAS will see with the authorities what can be done, pragmatically and tolerantly, to ensure the upkeep and safety of our facilities, as well as the continuation of training and the sitting of exams.

In this context, which is tense from a health point of view and tragic from a safety point of view, it is important to show solidarity with the whole chain of professionals concerned by not adding unnecessary complexity and by appealing to everyone's sense of responsibility and common sense.

The first lockdown taught us that there could be nuances and constant adjustments; as soon as we have details, the CNFAS will pass them on to you.

The CNFAS

  • 9 federations, 140 000 members, 3 200 clubs, 24 000 powered aircraft, 2 000 gliders.
  • Public-interest associations recognised by the Ministries of Transport and Sport, the federations offer young people in our country, on a voluntary basis, an ideal, aeronautical training, an exciting and demanding way of life, and above all a professional future.
  • The federations play a very important role in France's place in the aeronautical world: success in sporting competitions, supervising young people in aeronautical activities, training pilots, training engineers and technicians, innovation through amateur building, and preserving flying heritage.
