Below you will find the new DGAC statement of Wednesday 18 November 2020 authorising maintenance flights and associated travel.
General aviation activities under the new lockdown measures
The arrangements for the lockdown are set out in decree No. 2020-1310 of 29 October 2020, as amended, which specifies the journeys permitted.
The following activities and the travel they involve are permitted:
- professional training provided by an ATO or another professional training body registered with the DIRECCTE for its area,
- examinations,
- flights made by a company for its business activity (aerial work, maintenance flights, transport, maintaining proficiency),
- flights to and from maintenance workshops for servicing or repair work.
Each pilot must make sure that their flight is compatible with any additional measures that may be taken by the prefects.
Specific health protocols apply, in particular as regards physical distancing, compulsory mask-wearing, movement on the ground, handling of aircraft and their regular cleaning.
In addition, in the current context, each pilot is invited to file a VFR flight plan before setting off and to close it after landing, to avoid an unnecessary search being triggered.
