Lucas, a family passion for flying!

The association "Les Ailes de Paradis" is delighted to announce the following pilot certificate:

Lucas, born on 4 May 2005 (15 years old this year), began his training on 26 April 2018 on the Guépard microlight belonging to his grandfather and instructor Dominique Fermaut. After passing the theory exam on 26 September 2019, he made his first solo flight on 19 June 2020 and, on 20 August 2020, he successfully passed the practical and ground theory tests for the three-axis microlight pilot certificate. A few days later he received the precious document. Alongside this, Lucas is doing brilliantly at the Lycée Voltaire in Wingles (62), in the first year of the final two years of secondary school (première).

Because of lockdown and the epidemic, Lucas's training was abnormally prolonged, since at the beginning of March he was ready to go solo.

François: the joy of learning to fly has no age!

On 13 August 2020, François Brajon, aged 75, was sent solo by his instructor Rémy Ratin on the school aircraft, a Savannah 100. A pilot's life can begin at any age, and François's determination to become a microlight pilot proves it once again. He was able to celebrate with Jacques Delemontez, who marked his 1200 flying hours at the same time as the first solo.

The Aéro-Club de Bourgogne keeps flying, and the big kids keep having fun in the air!

Eva goes solo in a microlight

After 15 hours of lessons, André BRIGAULT fills in the progress sheet for Eva, aged 15: it is her 1st solo flight.

After several sessions in "robust" conditions that helped Eva's progress but delayed this first experience of a pilot's life, a gentler wind on Sunday 20 September finally allowed this 1st solo in good conditions. With no apprehension, but with seriousness and her feminine sensitivity, Eva made this first flight, alone at the controls of the club's Nynja 912 ultralight aeroplane on the lovely Montaigu-Vendée runway. A great experience, and well before her first driving lesson.

There is still a lot to learn, and above all the theory exam to pass, before she can fly on her own wings.
