Death of Silvio Vio

The tragic and rare fatal collision between an aeroplane and a microlight that took place on Saturday 10 October at Loches, killing five people (three in the aeroplane and two in the microlight), has plunged the great aviation family into mourning. Our thoughts are with all the victims and their loved ones. The loss in this accident of Silvio Vio, a radiant, generous and courageous personality, is an enormous loss for the microlight movement and for his many friends, who were proud to know him. Silvio's family has been through very hard trials in recent years, and we share especially the grief of his wife Véronique, his daughter Aurélie and his son César, himself a leading aviation professional and a passionate microlight pilot. We stand fully beside them.

A religious ceremony was held on Monday 19 October 2020 at Chatellerault aerodrome.
