About thirty instructors took part in the meeting organised by the Nouvelle Aquitaine Regional Microlight Committee on 24 October 2020 at the Maison des Sports in Talence.
After a minute's silence in memory of Silvio Vio, Philippe Archambaud opened the session by stressing the role of the instructor, which is at the heart of what we do.
Several speakers were present, including Jean-Christophe Gibert, head of the federation's Training and Flight Safety Division, and Martial Duqueroy, on airspace. These speakers covered many topics, such as NOTAMs, SUP AIPs, threat and error management, and more.
This instructors' forum made it possible to:
- Inform all instructors of the new provisions (for example the microlight theory exam), remind them of the new weight regulations, and review the latest orders governing air navigation.
- Provide information from the DGAC on deliberate or accidental airspace infringements by pilots, and present the aeronautical committees, such as the disciplinary committees and the CCRAGALS
- Provide information on the federation's flight safety policy and the new training programme, aimed at harmonising instruction
- Give all instructors the chance to speak about the times we are living through and the difficulties they have met as a result of the epidemic.
