The 47th Coupe Icare is cancelled for the general public

It is with great regret that the whole organising team of the 47th Coupe Icare must cancel the 2020 edition of the world's biggest public air sports festival. The FFPLUM will be there in an adapted format.
The uncertainty over how the global Covid-19 health crisis will develop makes it impossible to consider welcoming the tens of thousands of spectators who come from all over the world for the week of 13 to 20 September in our villages on the Plateau des Petites Roches and in Lumbin.
An event on this scale cannot afford to wait any longer to move ahead with its organisation. As the competent authorities cannot provide any precise information at this stage, the organising committee has decided not to welcome the general public this autumn.
The team is nevertheless preparing 4 days reserved for professionals and for paraglider, hang-glider, paramotor, microlight and hot-air balloon pilots, to be held from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September in Saint-Hilaire (Lumbin for the hot-air balloons). Planned are a trade show and paraglider equipment tests during the day. Screenings of the official selection of the international air sports film festival will take place in the evening, starting on Wednesday or Thursday evening (to be confirmed). The support of volunteers and partners will of course be needed to deliver this exceptional 2020 format.
The organising association warmly thanks everyone involved in the event for their commitment throughout the year.
