The National Seaplane Flying Division (Pôle National Vol Hydro) met on Saturday 15 August at the annual seaplane gathering on the Villefranche-de-Panat lake in the Aveyron, very close to the Millau viaduct. This was the 12th AVEYROLACS gathering, a 3-day event organised by Paul DELLAC, president of the seaplane club AIR DES LACS.
The new governance team was present in full around its new president, Marc DABRIGEON, who was visiting mainland France and is also president of the Guyane Regional Microlight Committee. The Guyane Committee has indeed been able to open 52 seaplane water areas in the single department of Guyane, and Marc offers to share his skills to develop the network of schools and seaplane water areas nationally. 6 strategic priorities will be set out to firmly establish this new division in laying the foundations of this ambitious project.
Guide to creating seaplane water areas and microlight strips
The DSAC guide to creating seaplane water areas and microlight seaplane bases, published by the south-west civil aviation safety directorate, lets the authorities process applications and gives all the information on the necessary formalities
Structuring the new federal division
The vision is to integrate this division within the federation itself, without creating a new association inside an association, in order to limit administrative burden and the delays of passing information on, and to allow projects to move forward with the weight of the federation and its recognition by the authorities.
List seaplane clubs and facilities on the federation website
First, list the seaplane flying sites on the federation website so that the microlight community can see them
Second, help with applications to open a new seaplane water area.
Development and promotion of seaplane microlighting by the federation
We offer you the opportunity to share your ideas so that seaplane microlight flying follows in its development the same path that mountain flying has followed since the collaboration in 2002 between Dominique MEREUZE and Jean-Pierre EBRARD, president of the AFPM.
Supervision and promotion of the activity, support for clubs
Each with their own expertise, the division's members will support your requests, listen actively to your projects, and be able to advise and guide you.*
Preservation and networking of microlight seaplane water areas
The division will safeguard existing seaplane water areas and will suggest that each regional president tell their members about this wonderful way of gliding over lakes, rivers and streams.
Each region will be able to form a group of pilots interested in this activity, and we will be there to share our experience of gatherings on temporary or permanent water areas.
Promoting existing microlight seaplane events
Let us know about your meetings and gatherings and your plans for seaplane circuits and rallies, and publicise them with your federation, to further strengthen the friendliness and sharing of our passion.
Microlight seaplane bases in your region
We are asking you, as microlight people, to draw on your knowledge of your region to tell us about all the existing seaplane clubs and bases in your area. Even if some are listed on BasULM, please notify us of them as well. You can send your feedback to Marc Dabrigeon, president of the National Seaplane Flying Division, at the following email address: mdabrigeon@ffplum.org
We are counting on you to help expand the network and let us extend the mapping of this all-out passion that is microlighting.
