On 23 July 2020, the French Microlight Federation and the French Navy signed a partnership agreement at Quiberon aerodrome. In compliance with health guidelines, the day was sunny and punctuated by several highlights.
99 introductory flights were flown by volunteer instructors with the vital support of the club ULM Morbihan. These flights were offered to young people from the EPIDE (Établissement Pour l'Insertion Dans l'Emploi, a youth employment integration centre) and to local people who had been working through the health crisis.
The day was punctuated by two performances by the famous Bagad de Lann Bihoué, as well as two fly-pasts by the Marins du ciel (naval aviators) in a Rafale and a Falcon 50.
The signing of the agreement between the French Microlight Federation and the French Navy, represented by Sébastien Perrot, President of the federation, and Captain David Samson, Commander of the Recruitment Service, offers young EPIDE volunteers a chance to discover aviation through microlighting and the range of careers offered by naval aviation.
