General aviation activities under the new lockdown measures
On 28 October 2020, the President of the Republic decided to take measures to reduce contact and travel across the whole territory to the strict minimum by introducing a new lockdown from 30 October until 1 December at the earliest.
The arrangements for this lockdown are set out in decree No. 2020-1310 of 29 October 2020 which specifies the journeys permitted.
The following activities and the travel they involve are permitted:
- professional training provided by ATOs (article 35 of the decree),
- exams (article 4.I.1.c of the decree),
- flights made by a company for its business activity (aerial work, maintenance flights, transport, proficiency maintenance).
Each pilot must make sure their flight is compatible with any additional measures that prefects may introduce.
These points will be adapted according to the ongoing discussions on how the decree is to be implemented.
