Sabri Ben Hassen, a three-axis microlight pilot, achieved the feat of crossing the Mediterranean Sea.

On 22 August 2020, after a year and a half of preparation and administrative procedures with the French and Tunisian civil aviation authorities, he took off from Fayence. A little over 3 hours later, he sighted African land and made his 1st radio contact with Tunis Carthage airport.

107 years after Roland Garros

The first crossing of the Mediterranean was made on the eve of the 1st World War, on 23 September 1913, by the famous Roland Garros. It is in his footsteps that Sabri wanted to follow with this crossing. For the microlight pilot, the next step is to aim for a record, and if possible a world one…

Congratulations to him on this initiative!
