What is the Dominique Méreuze Prize 2021?

The Dominique Méreuze Prize is a competition initiated by the FFPLUM Young Pilots Division and set up in collaboration with the DGAC, represented by Evelyne Gogneau and Yvette Méreuze (Dominique Méreuze’s wife). This fourth edition is reserved for young members. Its aim is to reward work by young people in the microlight world, to promote microlighting to other young people and to honour the memory of Dominique Méreuze (a notable figure in the microlight world and a former president of the FFPLUM).

A jury will select the most original entries that best match this year’s theme: “ My ideal microlight journey ”.

Who was Dominique Méreuze?

In 1998, he was elected President of FFPLUM. He would contribute greatly to the development of the microlight movement in France. In 2003, he took part in the creation of the EMF (European Microlight Federation), of which he was President until 2015. He was also Délégué Général of the CNFAS (National Confederation of Aeronautical and Sporting Federations). Finally, Dominique Méreuze held the Aeronautical Medal and was a Knight and Officer of the Légion d'Honneur.

Description of the theme

The theme of the 2021 Dominique Méreuze Prize is “My ideal microlight journey”. In whatever format you choose, you must tell us about your ideal, dreamed-of journey by microlight. This journey can be fictional or real. Do not hesitate to describe the emotions this flight gives you and why it will stay (or would stay) in your memory. You are free to choose the format in which you will feel most comfortable: a video, a poem, a short story, an article, a travel diary, and so on. Do not hesitate to be creative, original and imaginative.

The winning entry will receive a grant of 500 euros!

Conditions for entering
