Radio 8.33: information on frequency changes

Radio 8.33: information on frequency changes

Federation news15 January 20211 min read

News item of 15 January 2021. It has not been updated since it was published: some information may have changed. Latest news

We remind you that, as part of the introduction of 8.33, from 1 January 2021 aircraft making voice communications on a channel converted to 8,33 kHz spacing must be fitted with a 8,33 kHz radio to avoid any risk of disrupting communications.

From 1 January 2021, when carrying a radio is compulsory in an airspace, any aircraft operating in that airspace must be equipped with a radio of type 8,33.

The provisional calendar for conversions on the different AIRAC cycles of 2021 is shown in the table provided in the annex to this AIC.

In total, 15 AFIS aerodromes and 105 aerodromes without ATS are affected by this conversion in 2021, including hospital heliports.

The schedule of changes is available by clicking here.
