For the end-of-year holidays, the French Microlight Federation is giving you Patrice Francheschi’s book, La Folle Équipée. In his book, the adventurer tells the story of the first round-the-world trip by microlight, made between 1984 and 1987.

Book summary

Thirty-three countries crossed, thirty-six thousand kilometres flown, nine hundred and nine days of adventure. This first round-the-world trip by microlight was one of the great aeronautical challenges of the 1980s, with a succession of trials on every continent: perilous flights over jungles and deserts, crossings of war-torn countries, forced landings in the middle of nowhere, engine failures in mid-air.

My reward: extraordinary human encounters and one of the most memorable odysseys of my life.
