News item of 18 May 2022. Last updated on 4 August 2022: some information may have changed. Latest news

From 30 April to 8 May 2022, the 8th edition of the Paramotor Pilots’ Meet took place at Anères. These meets have been held for 5 years. This concept, unique in France, welcomes paramotor pilots 2 times a year for a maximum of 9 days.

This year, Canadians, Belgians, Luxembourgers and French pilots, from almost every region of France, were able to talk, share and fly together. The Club ULM et Aéromodélisme d’AN’AIR (LF6538), which hosted the French Paramotor Team last February, has a well-equipped facility, large enough to receive a significant number of pilots. Despite some forty cancellations, mainly because of unfavourable weather forecasts, 85 pilots took part in this Spring Meet.

15 flying slots were used out of 17 possible. Although the sun was not out every day, 326 flights were made, over the still snow-covered Pyrenees and over the plain. 20 pilots even managed to fly over the Pic du Midi de Bigorre! No accidents were reported and no noise complaints were brought to our attention.

As always, there was plenty of good fellowship around our regional dishes, cooked with passion by our “Head Chef”.

This edition is now over and, judging by the satisfaction the pilots expressed, nobody regretted having travelled, in some cases, a very long way to be there.

With the whole organising team, we will get back to work to prepare the next Pilots’ Meet, which will take place from 20 to 28 August 2022. To date, the event has been full for a long time. We have 72 registered pilots and 45 pilots on the waiting list. For safety and comfort reasons, the maximum number of pilots is limited to 50 per day. Some pilots will obviously be disappointed not to be able to take part. We look forward to seeing them in 2023 for new paramotor meets at Anères!
