2023: 100 years of the Gyroplane
In January 1923, Alejandro Gomez Spencer made the first gyroplane flight in Spain, covering 4 km in a machine designed by Juan de la Cierva….

LaMaugerieULM Autogire is organising a gyroplane gathering at Blois le Breuil aerodrome on 10 & 11 June 2023 to celebrate 100 years of the gyroplane. The aim is to bring gyroplane pilots together for a weekend in a friendly, convivial atmosphere of sharing, to offer you a Loire châteaux rally, and to involve the public in the event. The gyroplane is little known to most people, so it is a chance to introduce our activity and get everyone to look up at the sky; a photo competition will be held for the public. The châteaux become our partners all weekend for the public on the ground. A stand will let you learn the history of the gyroplane through photos and videos, and Patrick Perrier will present his book “100 years of gyroplanes”, written specially for the occasion… A great navigation idea for a discovery weekend. Food, accommodation and refuelling are provided.
