The Air Sports Festival took place from 11 to 19 May!

Season 201922 May 20191 min read

For the second year running, the National Council of Aeronautical and Sports Federations (CNFAS) coordinated the Air Sports Festival. The aim is to promote every form of flight to the general public: aeroplane, glider, free flight, balloon, helicopter, parachuting, model aircraft, amateur building and, of course, microlights, showing in concrete terms that the dream of flying is within reach.

The week was accompanied by a television campaign, which the FFA (aeroplanes) has run for many years. An interactive map was set up on the CNFAS website (www.cnfas.fr), allowing every organisation to register and show its presence through a wide variety of events, from a simple open day with trial flights to larger-scale events. Everyone does as they see fit, but with shared tools and a bigger media sounding board than usual.

With our 1 000 affiliated clubs and schools and 800 airfields, the Federation has an exceptional territorial network. Microlight flying is innovative, varied and accessible, but often too little known or misunderstood. Every month we produce films that help to inform the general public better. In 2019, we also made the first licence free for people under 25 and for women. Everything is in place to celebrate! Join us and take part in this edition. We will repeat it every year.

Despite the weather, which was not always on our side during the week, we thank all the clubs and regional committees that helped to organise it!

Happy flying, and fly safe
