Let's take off together!

2020 season10 July 20201 min read

The French Navy and the French Microlight Federation have decided to form a partnership for young people. So that the Navy's young recruits, drawn to naval aviation, can broaden their aeronautical culture through the diversity and novelty of microlight flying. So that the young people of our Federation can share the experience of the sailors of the sky. The values shared by the Navy and aviation are old and strong, both technically and humanly. As for microlighting, many of our machines use technologies that come from the maritime world, and many of our members are passionate about both microlighting and the sea as a magnificent space of freedom, rigour and solidarity.

This partnership between the French Navy and the French Microlight Federation offers a fresh look at the great richness of the Navy's careers on the one hand, and at a network of activities and personalities full of possible encounters on the microlight side. We need to take the time to discover and meet one another so that our young people find their way, sometimes outside the classic and expected paths. Career guidance and personal choices are often a matter of encounters and passion. By joining forces, the Navy and the Federation offer new opportunities to our young people, convinced that before know-how, it is interpersonal skills that allow people to flourish fully in very varied roles. The values of the Navy and of microlighting are a solid, complementary and structuring foundation for successful career guidance.

We really hope this partnership will last, in particular with "sea-air classes" from 2021. To celebrate the agreement that goes with it, we organised a friendly event with the team, full of energy and enthusiasm, at the Quiberon airfield.

Let's take off together!

President of FFPLUM
