PROTECTING THE INTEGRITY OF THOSE WHO FLY

FFPLUM, keen to support the development of microlight activities, is stepping up its efforts to strengthen its system for preventing misconduct and protecting the integrity of those who fly. Several measures have been adopted by the Board of Directors: signing the ethics and professional conduct charter, integrity checks for officials and instructors, and the prevention of sexual violence.

THE ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT CHARTER

By choosing to be an active part of the microlight movement, the pilot, beginner or experienced, the French Team member, the instructor, the flight director, the official, the parent and the partner are all custodians of the values this sport carries, and are responsible, individually and collectively, for defending and promoting them. As a result, everyone will be asked to sign up to the charter below and to help promote it in all circumstances.

Inspired by the recommendations of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee but true to the identity of our federation, this charter aims to offer, without pretension but with conviction, examples of good practice that will allow microlighting to continue to develop and to face tomorrow’s major challenges with confidence.

The integrity check

The integrity check system was started in 2020 to be built into the officials’ digital area.

What are we talking about?
In practice, the integrity check means checking the national automated judicial register of perpetrators of sexual and violent offences (FIJAISV) for all instructors and certain officials who hold an FFPLUM licence.
What is it for?
The purpose of this check is to identify, among licence holders, those who are not allowed to act as instructors or officials and to ensure they are removed from these roles.
For officials
A guide for club officials is available.
