In view of the new regulations that came into force on 1 January 2019, a few small changes have been made to the microlight pilot instructor knowledge refresher course.
If your rating has not yet expired, you will need to do an extension. If your rating has expired, you will need to do a renewal.
EXTENSION
Within the 12 months before the end of the rating's validity:
- Attend the microlight pilot instructor knowledge refresher course (2-day course) within the rating's validity period.
- Complete a check flight within the 12 months preceding the rating's expiry date (this flight is made on the class of the candidate's choice, but the choice must differ at each extension).
The check flight cannot take place on one of the course dates.
RENEWAL
Within the 12 months before renewal:
- Attend the microlight pilot instructor knowledge refresher course (2-day course)..
- Pass a satisfactory in-flight teaching assessment on the class or classes to be renewed..
This means an in-flight teaching assessment for each class you wish to renew.
