On 3 and 4 June, the FFPLUM took part in the Gazoline Festival for the first time, at Lamotte-Beuvron in Centre-Val-de-Loire. Vintage car and motorcycle enthusiasts enjoyed discovering some very fine microlights. A Mistral three-axis, a Cosmos weight-shift and, the highlight of the show, a superb Stampe SV4 RS. The retro, historic side of these machines sharpened the curiosity of the roughly 20 000 visitors who came over the weekend. They were able to talk to one of the Stampe's builders, Thomas Joron, a young man of 30, who worked for two long years with his friend André Januszewski, 72, to build this magnificent replica of the Stampe, in a lightened microlight version. Many visitors and exceptional vehicles wanted to be photographed in front of these aircraft.
Georges Humeau and Laura Mac Donald, elected members of the Federation, were able to give technical explanations and present the Mondial de l’ULM, which will take place from 1 to 3 September at Blois-Le Breuil aerodrome. The excellent idea of the Federation taking part in this festival came from Thomas Joron and the Federation's former communications employee (Irving Le Floechmen). The success achieved, and the value of introducing our sport and the Mondial de l’ULM to the local public, can only call for our presence at the Gazoline festival to be made permanent.
