A new partnership between the Federation and UniFLY, the student flying club

UniFLY is a flying club run by students, for students, in the Valence and Grenoble area. It is not tied to any aerodrome and is open to every kind of aviation. It is based in Valence, in the Latour Maubourg student hub.

After a year of work, an agreement was signed on 9 March 2024 between UniFLY and the federation, in the presence of Sébastien Perrot, Patrick Thépin (president of the AURA regional committee), Jérémy Boissel (president of UniFLY) and Guilhem Rolland (youth delegate of the AURA committee). The event was indeed an important one: it is a new action in favour of young people, a symbol of renewal for our federation. The aim is clearly stated: to reach out to motivated young students who are committed to the future of the FFPLUM.

This agreement will allow the federation to make contact with the university world (starting with Valence and Grenoble), and to bring young enthusiasts into the federal division. It will also provide a direct link with the issues facing Generation Z 1 so as to support them as well as possible. Going further, it will make it easier to build links with the Rhône-Alpes aviation business community.

This agreement is the start of an adventure that aims to grow: for the federal youth division, this initiative is set to open up to other student groups.

The UniFLY club offers:

  • Discovery of aviation professionals and organisations (close to Thales, the ALAT and Météo France in particular).
  • Introduction to flying through partner clubs.
  • Training for the BIA in particular, but also simulator sessions and drone training.
  • Organisation of the aéroDAY at Valence-Chabeuil airport: trial flights, drones, aviation professionals, talks... The next edition will take place on 4 May. The event is aimed above all at young people, but is open to everyone.
