Editorial: 2025, a year of renewal

Dear member pilots, leaders of our affiliated clubs and schools, instructors, and loyal partners,
It is with great humility that the newly elected team wishes to send you its most sincere wishes for this year 2025. We wish to pay tribute to the commitment of each and every one of you – volunteers, leaders, pilots – which is the true strength of our federation. You are the glue of our clubs, our regional committees and our federation, and your dedication is essential to keep our sport dynamic.
2025, a year of renewal.
This year must mark a new stage in our methods and our communication. The recent elections give us the legitimacy we need to represent your interests. Our unity and the official recognition of our supervising authorities, notably the DGAC and the Ministry of Sport, allow us to act as the official voice of our sport.
In that spirit, we have listened to your feedback about recent approaches received at your personal e-mail addresses, notably from a pseudo federation. While this may have surprised some of you, and although this data dates back several years, we want to remind you that protecting your personal data is a priority for our federation. In compliance with the GDPR, we have asked our lawyer to take measures to ensure the security of your data and prevent any unauthorised use. In addition, the 2 independent ethics and disciplinary committees have been set up to ensure a rigorous framework that respects our values.
A rethought organisation for greater efficiency.
Our freshly elected team is made up of women and men from all backgrounds and generations, united by a shared desire to work on a voluntary basis in everyone’s interest. We have restructured the management of our federation around five main divisions, each in charge of several committees. This new architecture will encourage collaboration between the different bodies, better responsiveness and greater efficiency in our actions.
Transparency and communication: priorities.
We want transparency to become a central pillar of our governance. Far from being a mere intention, it takes the form of concrete actions: from our first Board of Directors meeting (CODIR), we decided to circulate a record of the decisions taken, which will be sent to the heads of regional committees and affiliated clubs and schools. Our aim is to build clear and accessible communication, so that everyone feels fully involved in the decisions that concern us all.
Ambitious projects for 2025.
This year promises to be rich in challenges and opportunities:
- France has been chosen to host a double Microlight and Paramotor world championship, a unique opportunity to showcase our sport on the international stage.
- We are working actively on publishing a microlight theory book, planned for spring, to support our future pilots in their learning.
- A History, Heritage and Innovation committee has been created to preserve and celebrate the legacy of our community, while looking to the future.
A call for collective mobilisation.
All these projects can only succeed with your support and involvement. We invite each of you to take an active part in this positive momentum. FFPLUM, our Regional Committees, our clubs: that is you, that is us, the community of all those who work together to protect and grow our great family.
Thank you for your trust and your commitment. Together, let us keep building a strong, innovative and supportive federation.
