International Seaplane Gathering - Biscarrosse

This weekend, Biscarrosse reconnected with its aeronautical history by hosting the International Seaplane Gathering. A spectacular event, unique in Europe, that drew crowds to Lake Latécoère.

From Friday, enthusiasts were able to watch the practice sessions. Among the highlights, the splash-in performed by Laurent Venet impressed with its seriousness and the rigour of the manoeuvres. Safety was at the heart of every demonstration, offering a spectacle as fascinating as it was reassuring. Frédéric, at the controls of his Sea Max, then gave a smooth and elegant performance, warmly applauded by the spectators present.

The atmosphere among the enthusiasts was particularly warm. Many pilots gladly shared their experience, enthusiastically telling anecdotes and flying memories. A real community, driven by a love of aviation and of seaplanes in particular, came together around this unifying event.

The high point came on Saturday, with nearly 20 000 visitors coming to enjoy a programme full of demonstrations. In the evening, a magical moment closed the day: a Bronco launched a spectacular firework display, followed by a ballet of drones tracing the history of seaplane flying, then a final firework display of rare intensity.

This Biscarrosse event confirms, once again, the undimmed passion for seaplanes, but also the town’s ability to keep its aeronautical heritage alive with modernity and emotion.
