Federation news10 July 20191 min read

News from 10 July 2019. It has not been updated since it was published: some information may have changed. Latest news

Two new videos have been released on our YouTube channel at the start of July: Engine failure in open country and FFPLUM at the Le Bourget Show

Engine failure in open country

Here is the "engine failure in open country" tutorial, which covers the basics of handling this type of incident. It is important to clearly distinguish between everyday "flying" and "training" to handle abnormal situations.

The training tutorials are not intended to replace contact with your instructor, the only person trained and able to support you in practising such exercises. They are simply there to make you stop and think and to make it easier to question yourself, an attitude that is necessary and indispensable for every pilot, whatever type of aviation they fly.

Practise, that is what REV is for!

FFPLUM at the Le Bourget Show

YoutubeFFPLUM was once again present this year at the 53rd International Paris Air Show. It is the largest aeronautical show in the world, where some 180 000 visitors came over the three public days.

A chance for them to discover microlight flying and its variants. In the heart of the federations' village at Le Bourget, on the tarmac, 5 classes were on display in full size: Gyroplane, Three-axis, Paramotor (including an electric one!), Weight-shift, Helicopter.

Here is an overview of the microlight philosophy, its main principles and a foretaste of the long-awaited new 2019 regulation (in force since 1 July).
