Insurance: our Covid-19 steps
News from 8 May 2020. It has not been updated since it was published: some information may have changed. Latest news
Our microlights have not moved for 2 months. Practically no claims have therefore been reported during this period.
We have therefore approached our insurers to obtain for our members:
- A refund of the part of the premium corresponding to the In-flight Damage cover taken out through our federal broker Air Courtage.
- A refund of the part of the premium corresponding to the In-flight Liability cover taken out through the federation.
The insurers have noted our requests and have undertaken to take a concrete position as soon as flights have been able to resume throughout France.
Their current approach is as follows:
- The damage insurers plan a credit note to be deducted individually at the annual renewal of contracts for professionals and organisations.
- The liability insurer plans to promote flight safety through an allowance for policyholders who undertake a Return to Flying (REV) when lockdown ends. The amount and terms of this allowance should be set within a week.
We welcome your comments ahead of the close of these negotiations.
Next week, we will finally be able to give you all the information on the measures obtained!
