Coupe Icare: a new format
News from 10 July 2020. Last updated on 13 October 2020: some information may have changed. Latest news

The 47th Coupe Icare is cancelled for the general public. It is with regret that the whole organising team has had to cancel the programme of air displays, as the uncertainty over how the global Covid-19 health crisis will develop makes it impossible to welcome tens of thousands of spectators.
The team is nevertheless preparing a Cup for pilots! Amateur enthusiasts and professional exhibitors will gather from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September at Saint-Hilaire (and Lumbin for hot-air balloons). These four days are intended for paragliding, hang-gliding, paramotor, microlight and hot-air balloon enthusiasts, but families are of course welcome.
PROGRAMME Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September 2020:
- Icarexpo : international trade show for paragliding, paramotor, microlight and air sports professionals, held outdoors this year, from Thursday 17 at 2 pm to Sunday 20 September at 2 pm, at St Hilaire.
- Icare Test: new for 2020, three days of equipment trials - paragliders, harnesses and free-flight instruments - lent to enthusiasts by exhibitors at the show, from Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 September, at St Hilaire.
- Les Icares du cinéma: screenings of the official selection of the International Free Flight and Air Sports Film Festival, from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 September, at St Hilaire.
- Icare Ballons: hot-air balloon gathering, from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September, at Lumbin.
The usual catering area and festive entertainment are planned, as well as the glide-ratio competition.
