Many of you are wondering which type of insurance to take out. Below you will find the most common cases to help you choose the best insurance. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Federation by email (ffplum@ffplum.org).

Are you an instructor?
We recommend the Instructor Special User Third-Party Liability as well as Pilot Personal Accident cover and Passenger Personal Accident cover. For paramotor-only instructors, a Paramotor-only Instructor Special User Third-Party Liability has been created.

Are you a student?
You are covered by your instructor's Instructor Special User Third-Party Liability; we recommend Pilot Personal Accident cover.

Which insurance should I take out for my profile?

Are you a student owner?
You are insured by your instructor's Special Instructor User Liability cover. We recommend Parked Aircraft Liability and Pilot Personal Accident. If your certificate date is approaching, or once you hold the certificate, you should opt for Single-Seat User Liability (then Two-Seat once you have your passenger rating). We also offer Damage Cover for your microlight at rest anywhere (excluding paramotors and aerostats).

Are you a pilot?

You do not own the aircraft, so you will need to take out User Liability, unless your club or school has taken out Aircraft Liability on behalf of its licensed pilots. We also recommend taking out Pilot Personal Accident (and Passenger Personal Accident if you hold the passenger rating).

Are you a pilot owner?

You will need to take out User Liability. If you are at least 3 co-owners of the same microlight, you can consider replacing these User Liability policies with Aircraft Liability, but you will then be limited to using that microlight. We also recommend Pilot Personal Accident and Passenger Personal Accident. We also offer Damage Cover for your microlight at rest anywhere, except for paramotors and aerostats.

If you do not plan to fly at the start of the year, we recommend taking out Parked Aircraft Liability from 1 January to cover your responsibilities as the microlight's owner, plus the stationary-engine option if you plan to start your microlight's engine for maintenance reasons.

Are you in charge of a club or school?

The Federation offers special cover to clubs and schools for their machines. It includes in particular Aircraft Liability and 2 Personal Accident (Pilot and Passenger).
