The preparation of the paramotor competitors for the 2018 Slalom World Championship took place at Bornos from 20 to 24 August 2018.
As the French sites have not yet been approved, the France team is fine-tuning its preparation in Andalusia, at the lake site that is ideal for slalom work and well known to international competitors.

The staff's objectives were to prepare the competitors for the specific slalom events and to select the France team members for the next deadlines. 13 competitors were invited, taking into account results, experience and ability in slalom specifically.
The sporting side was supervised by Pascal Vallée, assisted by Jean Matéos and Bruno Oulha, with a programme of 5 hours of flying a day, starting at 7 a.m., with relentless daily work on the 8 reference courses (mastering long and tight turns, landing accuracy - Bowling Landing).

The pilots were fully committed, with clear progress in turn handling and times evident from the second day, and spectacular falls and splashdowns without injury to the pilots, which show the need to keep slalom on water.

The last briefing of the week gave a precise overview of the overall progress of the team and the competitors, including of course the final selection of the team that will take part in the World Championships scheduled in Egypt from 20 to 31 October 2018 at Beyoum (list available on the federation website).

The FFPLUM thanks the volunteers who contributed to the success of this training session: Danièle Matéos for managing and preparing meals, the competitors for transporting the federation's equipment, and Jean Matéos, Bruno Oulha and Pierre Aubert for ground assistance.
