Coupe Icare, the great free-flight festival... and paramotoring

The 45th Coupe Icare is already over... and was a great success for Paramotor!
After four magnificent days with eyes turned to the sky, it is time to tidy up, clean up and get back to normal until next year.

Once again very many people (more than 90 000 spectators) answered the call of the skies and shared with light aviation enthusiasts some wonderful hours of very high-level sporting spectacle.

As for microlight class 1, the paramotor, the registration record was broken this year! More than 130 pilots registered, 46% of them foreign nationals; pilots from distant countries (North and South America, the Middle East...) come to fly at the Coupe Icare, which has become a true international meeting of paramotor pilots!
The French Microlight Federation handled - strictly by the book (since no non-compliance was found after an audit by the DGAC and the BGTA in Grenoble) - the entire organisation for the paramotor pilots: registrations, information for pilots before the event, contact with the administrative authorities, and so on...

This 45th edition of the Coupe Icare was therefore a great satisfaction from the point of view of the federation's work and a real success for paramotoring and microlighting in general.

Worth noting:
The international low-level paramotor contest once again blew the Coupe Icare away! Speed, precision, beautiful gliding: a combination of thrills that is increasingly exciting the spectators.
1st: Jérémy Penone (selected for the World Championships in Egypt, read "Slalom in Spain: Egypt is the target for the French team")
2nd: Nicolas Aubert (3th in PF1 elite at the French Championships and also selected for Egypt)
3rd: Dimitris Kolliakos (Greece)

See you next year for a 46th edition that will be even more exceptional than usual, since for the first time it will be built entirely around Leonardo da Vinci, whose death 500 years ago will be commemorated in 2019 (the 500th anniversary).
