The SUP AIP on overflying the Forêts National Park has been published on the SIA website: https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/pub/media/store/documents/file/l/f/lf_sup_2019_343_fr.pdf
The Forêts National Park was created on 6 November 2019, requiring overflight of the core of the park at a height above 1000 m (3300 ft).
- Overflight at a height of less than 1 000 metres above ground (3300 feet) requires authorisation from the director of the public body in the following cases:
1° public service mission carried out by or on behalf of the public body;
2° scientific mission;
3° authorised works;
4° public aerial photography mission;
5° maintenance of facilities of general interest;
6° filming or photography to promote the National Park.
The authorisation may include requirements on the periods and places of flight and landing, and on the number and frequency of rotations.
- Overflight at a height between 400 metres and 1 000 metres above ground (1300 and 3300 feet respectively) is permitted in air corridors shown on a map approved by the board of directors after the opinion of the scientific council and the binding opinion of the North-East regional airspace management committee, without prejudice to the provisions of the Very Low Altitude Network (RTBA) in force.
This mapping is passed on to the competent authorities.
- Overflight at a height of less than 400 metres (1300 feet) is permitted for take-off or landing phases from existing developed sites regularly used at the date the decree was published. These sites are shown on a map approved by the board of directors after the opinion of the scientific council, without prejudice to the provisions of the RTBA in force.
This mapping is passed on to the competent authorities.
- Overflight by paraglider on so-called "distance" flights is subject to notifying the director in the 48 hours beforehand; the director may object where wildlife protection requires it.
