Since March 2018, Yann Leudière has been building a Pottier P130 at home. We first heard about his work through the "Défi ULM" challenge during the first lockdown. Today he tells us how it is going!
Since 26 March 2018, I have been building my 3-axis microlight, yes, in my living room! I live near Montauban and set about building a Pottier P130. My best friend Sylvain DUPUIS had started building an aerobatic aeroplane a few years earlier, so I told myself I could do it. With no hangar or garage, I started building my 3-axis in my living room.

Today, the fuselage is almost ready to be covered in fabric and to receive the engine. The wings are ready, one hung on the wall, the other from the ceiling. During the first lockdown, this let me make good progress on the build: boxing in the wing leading edges, routing the controls with travel tests, several trips out into the garden to set it up in a cross, testing the electric flaps, fitting the wheel fairings, and simply the pleasure of climbing in and letting my imagination run…
Since then, the canopy and dome have been fitted. The instrument panel wiring is nearly done. The engine mount is ready to receive the engine, which is waiting for its exhaust, which I will have to adapt. The upholstery, fuel system, wheel fairing fibreglass and carbon finishing of the centre consoles are all done.
Still to do: fit the engine and cover the wings, tail surfaces and fuselage in fabric. The engine accessories remain to be fitted and adapted.

Careful, wet paint!
