The common microlight theory exam within FFPLUM organisations

This is a project that is taking off... the first FFPLUM examination centres will be operational for the second half of 2021. In a few months, candidates for the theory exam will be able to register with an FFPLUM "examination centre" to sit "the theory".
The DSAC plans to approve the FFPLUM as a delegated body in July 2021.

To minimise travel and registration delays, we want to offer every candidate a nearby exam centre with places available. Building up our exam centres will nonetheless take a few months.
During a transition period, candidates will be able to choose to take the theory exam either at a DSAC centre or within a federal organisation. Both registration routes will be available in parallel via dedicated websites.
The exams will of course be set up identically (number of questions, time allowed, multiple-choice question bank).
The exam will comply with the May 2000 order, recently amended, whose publication in the Official Journal is imminent. According to the DSAC, the date of application will be 1st July 2021.
The amendment to the order concerns the wording of the knowledge and skills expected, so everything should be clearer and more precise for candidates and their instructors. The scope of knowledge for the exam is unchanged, and the exam will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes.
Through this delegation, the FFPLUM will have the means to meet a threefold objective:
- To be able to assess microlight pilots' skills in an appropriate way
- To make the exam easier to access (delays and proximity)
- To provide training support for member candidates (mock exam, teaching content)
From now on you will find information on this subject in each monthly newsletter and in our magazine ULM Info.
