An aerial 1 January 2023 for Valentin

On Sunday 1st January 2023, Valentin made a flight to celebrate the new year: he decided to do a navigation flight spelling out 2023. He tells us about it below.
« Having made the aerodrome's last movement in 2022 and taking advantage of a sunny 1st January 2023, I wanted to mark the first flight of the year by sending my wishes in an original way and as widely as possible. The idea: leave Mâcon aerodrome (LFLM) in a G1 SPYL belonging to « Tous en Vol », a club affiliated to the FFPLUM, then go to a sparsely populated area, over the Bresse, to follow as closely as possible the route prepared beforehand.
To do this, there were two of us on board: me (Valentin, just 19 years old, PPL-qualified since April 2021 and microlight-qualified since last 22 December, studying for the theoretical ATPL) and my passenger, Rémi ROUSSOT, 19 years old and a microlight pilot also licensed with Tous en Vol, studying for an aeronautics BTS in Clermont-Ferrand – incidentally, he is the one who convinced me to try microlight flying!

Rémi was there to reinforce the lookout for other traffic (in fact, we were alone in the air that day!) and gradually followed the track being drawn on Flightradar24 so that I could try to get the best result!
After an hour's flight, we are rather proud of the result, which is very legible, and we head home, quite tired by our flight (overall comparable to an air rally or an Air Navigation Race, although those are flown without GPS) ! »
Passing through Macon to Saint-Martin-Le-Châtel, 105 km were flown to pull off this feat.
Valentin regularly writes up his flights on the website he created himself! You can follow him at: www://valaero.fr
