"La Transamazônica: between sky and earth" by Sylvestre Campe

Patron of the 42th Mondial de l’ULM, Sylvestre Campe set himself the incredible challenge of showing us his native land. From his paramotor, he captures the finest images of the famous Transamazônica and shows us a Brazil rich in culture.
La Transamazônica: between sky and earth
Aboard his paramotor, the explorer Sylvestre Campe travels the famous Trans-Amazonian highway, meeting the people of this deep, mixed-heritage Brazil.
The Transamazônica cuts through the Brazilian forest for 4 300 kilometres. Millions of tonnes of raw materials pass along this immense road, which ends in a dead end in the middle of the jungle. Aboard his paramotor, the French-Brazilian explorer Sylvestre Campe reveals from the air the immensity, beauty and scars of the landscape, and sets out to meet the people: poor farmers of the sertão, a semi-arid zone of the Nordeste, a young gold prospector who dreams of shining on social media, a young Indigenous activist, a couple who sacrificed their youth to build the road… Between earth and sky, a superb road movie that paints an authentic portrait of this Amazonian Wild West.
