Official statement
Dear members,
The Board of Directors would like to inform you of the events that have taken place in recent days within your federation.
At the General Assembly held last Saturday, the moral and financial reports were presented to the members. The results presented drew clearly expressed discontent from the assembly. Despite this, the President and the Secretary General then in office chose to remain in their roles.

The following morning, at the Board of Directors meeting of the newly elected members, it was proposed that the executive board resign from its duties and be put to a new vote. The President and the Secretary General did not accept this proposal. On Friday morning, without discussing it beforehand with the Board of Directors, the President and the Secretary General submitted their resignation with immediate effect.
In the face of this situation, an extraordinary Board of Directors meeting was called this weekend. Gathering in force, and despite the surprise, the members of the Board answered the call.
To ensure success in the urgent negotiations with the authorities, the Board of Directors considers it necessary not to defer or weaken its action, whose effectiveness requires determination, stability and cohesion. A new executive board will shortly be elected, in the presence of the Electoral Operations Oversight Commission (CSOE).
This decision of continuity closes no door. Club presidents naturally retain their right to use article 10 of the FFPLUM statutes, adopted on 23 March 2024, and to call a General Assembly that would dissolve the current Board of Directors. All the official texts can be consulted on the FFPLUM website: https://ffplum.fr/la-federation/les-missions/148-environnement.
We are not burying our heads in the sand: this situation is difficult and we understand the questions it raises. That is precisely why the Board of Directors has chosen to stand firm, at your side.
As we have had occasion to tell you, the matter of the new order of 17 February 2025 on the conditions for using motorised ultralight aircraft (microlights), known as “OPS-ULM”, is currently the federation’s absolute priority.
While this subject has until now been handled in a small circle, the Board of Directors wanted to turn the page on that way of working: a new team, fully constituted and more than motivated, is taking charge of this matter and will shortly meet the Director General of the DGAC to express the federation’s firm disagreement.
Because we believe in the strength of the collective, if you wish to share your opinion and proposals with us, you can send a message to: reglementation@ffplum.org.
This period of turbulence does not call into question the commitment of those who, at every level, keep microlighting alive day to day.
Our federation has been through trials in the past; it came out of them stronger, because its members have always known how to come together around what is essential: the passion for flying.
The Board of Directors calls on all members, clubs and volunteers to remain mobilised and supportive.
FFPLUM is you, it belongs to you. It is together that we will get through this stage and build, with ambition and serenity, the future of our sport.
The Board of Directors
