Microlight theory exam goal for 2020

As decided with the DGAC in the summer of 2018, the Federation will be the delegated body for the microlight theory exam in 2020. This ambitious goal involves several workstreams that are currently under way.
The first concerns the legal framework of this delegation between the State in its sovereign role and the Federation as operator. This framework will also determine which organisations (clubs or for-profit organisations) will be authorised to administer the theory exam, meeting both legal criteria and the need for an even territorial distribution.
The second workstream, the heaviest, consists of drafting a new order defining the microlight theory exam. The current syllabus dates from 2001 and its content needs to be modernised and adapted to our practice. We have also developed an "exam" application, which is operational and being tested in a few organisations.
Finally, we want to support this project with online teaching resources specific to the Federation (an e-learning space). To see it all through, the training team, under Jean Christophe Gibert, has been expanded with the arrival of Michel Marti (exams), Didier Horn (resources) and Christie Heitz (institutional relations). Delegation of the theory exam will bring more coherence between teaching and examination, getting closer to the requirements of our practice and guaranteeing a lasting, strong link between training and flight safety, as is done in other types of federation (diving, for example).
