charlaine

All the federation’s teams were stunned to learn of the sudden death in a microlight accident of Charlaine Papet and her partner Fabrice, who was at the controls. The investigation will establish the circumstances in due course.

Charlaine had been an elected member of the Board of Directors since March 2019, and was particularly in charge of the links between clubs, affiliated organisations and Regional Committees, and of the creation of the brand-new National Sports Agency. Her very thorough knowledge of the field (mainly in Occitanie) and of institutional mechanisms (this was partly her job at the département), and her personal qualities, which everyone appreciated, made her an especially committed elected member. She was able to take on complex project-building files while also being present at federal events to introduce people to our activity, where her personality radiated simplicity and happy warmth: the fine face of a microlight enthusiast committed to sharing.

Her great ability to listen, her skill at bringing out the best in a team and her boundless commitment to the Federation, all while leading a busy life with family commitments, quickly made her an essential link in our Federation and, for many of us, a friend.

On behalf of the Federation, we express all our affection and support to the families of Charlaine and Fabrice.

President of FFPLUM
