10th anniversary of the seaplane base and the "AIR DES LACS" seaplane club at Villefranche de Panat (Aveyron)

Aveyrolacs: rainy but happy!

"As part of the national Air Sports Festival, a whole programme had been drawn up for the week from 5 to 13 May.

Unfortunately, the very poor weather in the region meant that not all the registered machines could take part in this "Aveyrolacs 2018".

On the seaplane side, apart from the club's Savannah and Weedhopper and Roland Boissière's Transat, only the Swiss crew of Alex Kollep with his magnificent FlyWhale and one seaplane touched the water of the lake.

Others had to turn back or divert to a less hostile climate.

Even so, Friday 11, which was particularly sunny, allowed about fifteen land-based machines to visit us.

From Thursday, the flight simulator of the Occitanie Regional Committee was up and running, and the Citoyens du Ciel team was with us to liven up the last days and take a few people with disabilities flying.

To round off the meeting in style, the atmosphere was lively on Saturday evening at the traditional meal served in the municipal hall by the lake. A reception preceded the meal, with the Aveyron member of parliament, the departmental councillor, the deputy mayor and Mr Pierre-Henri Lopez, president of the PNVH (Pôle National Vol Hydro). They did us the honour of attending and assured us of their support, for which we thank them.

Other events are planned on our lake, starting with the final of the Citizens' Cup on 23 and 24 June."
