Covid situation after 14 April 2021 for microlight flights

Federation news14 April 20211 min read

News from 14 April 2021. It has not been updated since it was published: some information may have changed. Latest news

In addition to our newsletter of 03 April 2021:

We have taken note of the latest directives from our supervising ministries, and in particular of the health decisions announced on 08 April 2021 by the Ministry of Sport.

Implementation of the health decisions for sport from 8 April 2021

These allow individual sports participants (no contact) to access outdoor sports facilities in their département or within a radius of 30 km of their home if the sports facility is in a different département from their home.

And supplemented today, 14 April 2021, by an instruction on the Ministry for the Ecological Transition website setting out the table of general aviation "lockdown" measures concerning the 30 km limit: https://www.ecologie.gouv.fr/aviation-legere ; https://www.ecologie.gouv.fr/activite-des-aeroclubs

This allows aviation participants to travel to their flying field within a radius of 30 km of their home between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm.

It goes without saying that this may only be done in strict compliance with the health protocol and the physical distancing rules of 2 metres, and with gatherings of no more than 6 people.

FFPLUM provisions - Covid-19

In application of this instruction from the Ministry of Sport and the Ministry of Ecological Transition, if you go beyond the 10 km limit you must be able to justify your sporting activity by showing your 2021 federal sports licence, together with proof of your home address and of your place of sporting activity: aero club, aerodrome or microlight strip where you are based.

Reminder: the other provisions of our 3 April letter concerning training/instruction flights are unchanged: these activities are not subject to distance restrictions (daytime 6:00 am/7:00 pm certificate - box 1).

And as always, fly safely and look after others and yourselves.
